DogSpots is a map of places in London where you can go with your dog. These terms cover using the app. They're short, because the deal is simple: use it kindly, and understand that dog policies belong to the venues, not to us.
The short version
- DogSpots is free to use, with or without an account.
- Venue information is our best effort, not a guarantee — a policy can change the day after we checked it. If it matters, check with the venue.
- What you submit should be true, and by submitting it you let us show it in the app.
- You're responsible for your dog, everywhere, always.
What DogSpots is
DogSpots lists businesses and public places along with what we've learned about whether they welcome dogs — from public sources, from asking venues directly, and from people using the app. We work hard to keep it accurate, and we mark what we've been able to confirm, but we can't promise any listing is complete, current or correct. Whether a venue admits your dog on the day is always the venue's decision.
Nothing in the app is advice. You remain responsible for your own decisions, and for your dog's behaviour, safety and welfare wherever you take them.
Your account
You can browse without an account. If you create one, keep your email access secure — sign-in codes go to your address, so anyone with your inbox is you as far as the app can tell. You must be at least 13 to create an account. You can delete your account at any time from the Profile tab, which permanently removes it.
What you submit
When you add a spot, suggest a correction, verify a visit, or add your dog's details and photo, you give us permission to store that material and show it in DogSpots — that's the entire point of submitting it. You keep ownership of what's yours.
In return, what you submit must be honest and yours to give: no made-up policies, no photos you don't have the right to use, nothing unlawful, and nothing abusive. We may edit, decline or remove submissions — usually to fix or verify a detail — and we may remove content or close accounts that misuse the app.
Ours and theirs
The app, the site, our name and our artwork belong to us or our licensors — please don't copy or reuse them without asking. Venue names belong to the venues. Map data belongs to its providers.
The legal paragraph
DogSpots is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for loss or damage arising from using the app or relying on a listing — including a venue turning you and your dog away. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction.
Changes
If we change these terms we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant we'll say so in the app. Carrying on using DogSpots after a change means the new terms apply.
